To kick of the 1st day of the NHL season, its announced that Stan Lee (creator of Spider-man, Iron Man, X-men) are collaborating on a "Guardian Project". In a nut shell, Stan Lee will create 30 superheros based on all 30 NHL teams. Basically a way to create more fans and money from a growing and massive industry. The whole project is expected to be launched within the new year. Its interesting what ideas he has about all 30 teams, especially how a Maple Leaf, Duck or Red Wing would look as a superhero.
