Italian Design //

This is quite a collaboration. Ferrari has paired up with camera giant Hasselblad. Obviously, this would be Ferrari's first branded camera. Get them while they last, only 499 will be made. Pricing is unknown for now, but I know it will be super expensive.

NHL Superheros //

To kick of the 1st day of the NHL season, its announced that Stan Lee (creator of Spider-man, Iron Man, X-men) are collaborating on a "Guardian Project".

In a nut shell, Stan Lee will create 30 superheros based on all 30 NHL teams. Basically a way to create more fans and money from a growing and massive industry. The whole project is expected to be launched within the new year. Its interesting what ideas he has about all 30 teams, especially how a Maple Leaf, Duck or Red Wing would look as a superhero. For the official article and website

Kanye Live on SNL //

This past Saturday, Kanye West performed on SNL. He showcased two singles from his new album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy", which drops November.

Along with the push of his new album, he's been releasing songs that he's been working on in the past few months; either making an appearance or producing. You can find these downloads here.

From what has been released so far, it seems like Kanye West is moving in yet another direction in his music. Much much different that what he had released for College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation. But, it comes with the territory where music is always changing. So I'm really looking forward to when it finally releases.

Re-intro"deuce"ing //

For Chris Brown, its has been difficult year, trying to bounce back from the events of early 2009.

Since then, he's released a very mediocre album "Graffiti".

But now, 2010, He's made some progress. He had finished filming Takers early in the year, which had released in late August and had some success.

Musically, he released "
Deuces" in the summer, which is got huge airplay and has been a positive. Even better, recently the song got a remix involving the industry's best, including Drake, T.I., Kanye West, Fabolous, and Andre 3000.

He's riding high now, and I can only hope that his next album is successful, as well as being a good listen. But now we wait.

Life in 3D //

So to me it seems like technology is moving WAY to fast for anyone. We're finally adjusting and handling High Definition television, and all its glory. It's the norm. But now, introduction of 3d is soon moving in. Samsung has produced and already sold their first 3D television in Australia.

Television channels are already ahead of themselves by producing broadcasts in 3D; including this past Masters Tournament and a handful of soccer matches in Europe. Official plans are to launch the 3D technology with the largest television stage: the World Cup. In June, Sony will be filming most of the matches in 3D, and experimenting with the technology.

I just feel that this technology just won't fly. As won't the 3D camera and picture frame to match.

Just love technology.

City Life After Death //

Channel surfing and a distraction from my papers led me to this for my rebirth: Man vs. Wild.

For those who aren't aware, basically a survival/reality show depicting how to survive in different environments. Hosted by Bear Grylls, who is a former SAS (Special Air Service) Unit with the UK Special Forces as a trooper, survival instructor and Patrol Medic. So he's well equipped and experienced.

Anyway. Episode aired tonight; but rather than surviving in a natural environment, an urban environment was chosen. Scenario: basically survive a post-disaster urban city. It was filmed recently in Skrunda, Latvia. The town had a population of 5000 during the Cold War, but has been abandoned over a decade ago after the Russian Military withdrew from Latvia during the Soviet collapse.

Just from watching it, seemed quite eerie seeing a deserted city such as that. But very interesting.

If you're intrigued, follow below for the full episode (in 5 parts via youtube)

Rooftop to shaft, Inside the factory, Food and shelter, Further exploration, and Civilization.

Fun fact: Ben Stiller is signed on to do a guest appearance with Bear on a soon to be air episode. Similar to Will Ferrell's episode.

So yeah. More to come... sparingly.

Rebirth. //

Basically the only word to describe the Safeguard.

I've been away from this for about 2 months, and for me at least, it's long overdue. School has been an occupier, as well as life itself. But taking some time tonight to myself, I've decided to embark on it once again. Until the school year is done, I'll hopefully be back regularly and way better than ever. So enjoy.

And really... Don't Call It a Comeback.

Pants on the Ground. //

So everyone's heard of "Pants on the Ground" by Larry Platt. Man singing his heart out on American Idol. With its comedic and viral value, there is not one person who doesn't know the song.

Even the infamous Brett Farve knows the song.

Now, it's hit its acclaim within the hip-hop industry.

To me its just puzzling how something so minuscule, such as a song about pants being on the ground, to making it huge. Can anyone answer me that...

Welcome Technology. //

After years in development, here is the finished product: The Transcend.

Zeal Optics with Reco Instruments have came up with goggles that integrate a "Head Mounted Display". Basically the rider can call up data right in front of their eyes like a jet pilot displaying information such as speed, altitude, temperature, time, GPS location, and stop watch. Too bad it costs 350$. Though, clever and super advanced technology for goggles.

New Age of Board Games //

Monopoly has been a staple and standard for board games, being patented in 1935. The game has taken on different themes (from Seinfeld, to Transformers, to The Beatles) but stayed relatively the same. It finally took its 75th anniversary to push for change.

Now, a new design and updated look for Monopoly will hit retailers' shelves in the fall of 2010. The game is up to date with more "here and now" pricing, sound effects, and electronic banking. The concept remains the same, and no changes in the rules were made. Just a modernization of a classic game.

I can only assume for perhaps more board games to take on a more modern look.

Director Wes Anderson (known for Life Aquatic, Royal Tenenbaums, and Darjeeling Limited) took the lead in creating a stop motion film for the Roald Dahl's "Fantastic Mr. Fox" which released to theatres this past fall.

After its release, the movie was recognized for the Special Filmmaking Achievement Award by the National Board of Review. His acceptance speech: done the same way that the movie was filmed, in stop motion.

Fantastic film with a great story. Loved the novel when I was a kid, and its a fantastic adaptation (all puns intended). Definitely check it out.
