Larger Than Life.

Found in the UK for a Nike's show launch is a wired frame Air Max, created by artist Benedict Radcliffe. It measures 3.5 meters in length, and looks exactly like the real life counterpart. See for yourself.

Common Sense with Common.

Continuing with the Embedded Series, an episode that has caught my attention is with Common. Entertainer; actor and artist. Basically follows him around and explains his new album (Universal Mind Control) amongst other things.

Also in the video, get an insight with Lykke Li (Swedish Pop Singer) and an acoustic street performance by Bloc Party.

Other videos include the Decemberists, Ben Harper, Silversun Pickups, and Thievery Corporation. Definetly something to check out during this holiday time.

Black is the New Black.

The Rolex brand has been associated with high class since the early 1900s, and it hasn't at all changed. Introducing the the Black Rolex DLC Special Editions. These watches start at $6,000 and range upwards to 9,500. Watches use a Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating to create durability and longevity. All watches come in the stealth-black looks. So nice. More looks can be found here.

Early Lupe Xmas...

Chicago native Lupe Fiasco came onto the music scene within the last few years, and has really made a name for himself. Working with artists like Jay-Z, Kanye West, N.E.R.D., Will.i.am, just to name a few. As well as a Grammy to his name.

There's been news about his next album, Lasers, releasing in 2o10. But samples of what he's been working on lately is sprouted all over the internet.

Firstly, he has a new single off of the Twilight: New Moon film entitled Solar Midnite. Great video, but for me, too much movie; vampires and werewolves galore!

Secondly, Lupe Fiasco has also released a new mixtape; Enemy of the State: A Love Story. Tracks that he's been working on. Nothing new, in terms of exclusives, but a taste of his lyrical style. And apparently, soon to be dropping another mixtape within the next few weeks. So look out of that.

An artist to definitely give time to.

Clever ad campaign for Adidas created by Made Ink. Basically playing off the prehistoric era; mostly dinosaurs, and the history or "origins" of the three stripes of Adidas.

Chock Full O'Sandwiches

So as you know, Philadelphia's own, the Roots, is Jimmy Fallon's house band for his Late Nite show.

Recently, Questlove (the band's co leader and drummer) released "sandwiches"; basically the songs that the band play when entering and coming out of a commercial break. Already, from the 9 months the shows existed, they already hit 1000 of these snippets. So he's released 22 'sandwiches' on a freebie download.

But yeah. I've been on a huge hiatus from blogging which has sucked. Bombarded with tonne of school work; projects and exams. But I'm finally done for the semester; and only one more to go! But I'll be back to updating regularly since I'm on break and have zero responsibilities. Happy Reading.

Mini Mahal. //

So before, I brought up the architecture feats of Lego. Now they're continuing it with the Taj Mahal. $300, and just under 6000 pieces. Incredible!

It measuring over 20 inches wide and 16 inches tall. Again incredible! For more toy related stuff, check out this blog; Playgrounder. Actually really sweet toys, that are way better then back in my day.

Embedded with Mighty Mos. //

This is a fantastic stumble since I'm a huge fan of Mos Def. Basically a camera crew followed Mos Def during his tour of Japan to promote his new album Ecstatic, which you can download here.

He's gives insight on some of his new music, you see him away from the microphone, and also take in some great view of Japan. The same film crew also followed Common, Silversun Pickups, The Decemberists, among other artists. And, are soon to be released in the next few weeks. A new artist upload will be on to the site every week, so check it out...

Still truckin'.

Duck Sauce! //

This is by far my favourite music collaboration, with by far the best name: Duck Sauce.

Two DJs:
- A-Trak (Canadian born, winner of three major DJ competition titles and five-time World Championship winner, and was once Kanye West's tour DJ)
- Armand Van Helden (Boston born, producer and remixer, and critically acclaimed in Europe)

They basically were acquaintances before, loved each others work, and wanted to get together for a project. Their
aim is to produce disco house tracks that will appeal to club DJs, and you'll get a good hear from their first single; aNYways.

Their album is soon to drop October 26th, look out for that, or check back here. I'll hopefully have it.

Overload again.

Awkward Mr. West. //

So this is something to check out. Ever since the Taylor Swift incident at the MTV Music Awards a few months back, Kanye West has been everywhere in music. Recently, him and Spike Jonze came together to create a short film; We Were Once A Fairytale...

It debuted at the Los Angeles Film Festival this past June, but was just released to the public a few days ago. Its a very surreal short film, but something that doesn't surprise me coming from Kanye West. Check it out yourself.

Again, been some time is my last, but school has been quite a time thief. Overloads tonight.

The Kickdrums; a musical duo consisting of a producer/singer/songwriter and a dj/producer. They've already produced and remixed for such artists like Kanye West, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, and many others. With their popularity they were bound to release their own album, debuting as "Just a Game".

No Homers. //

So. This is pretty sweet;

In collaboration with the online magazine Format, Moxy Creative, a Toronto based design studio, has created Simpson-ized Hip-Hop artists. Basically a Simpson form of real-life icons; with the likes of Weezy, Kanye, BIG, Pac, Snoop, Flava Flav, Eazy E, Eminem, Andre
3000, and Fat Joe. Also within each, an icon symbol/figure in replace of the "o" representing each artist. Fantastic!
