Two Songs. //

So these two songs have been stuck in my head for quite sometime. I've somewhat grown to like them, but only the song, not the video. They've been playing not stop at my work, since we listen to the radio and they seem to play twice a day.

Shakira's She Wolf.

Note: She's flexible and attractive, but it doesn't make up for her terrible dance moves.

Kelly Rowland's When Love Takes Over.

Say what you want, But I like their songs. Catchy, and to the point.

Master Craft. //

This dynamic electronic duo hails from the Beaches of Toronto. Their name; MSTRKRFT, pronounced Masterkraft, dar.

Really. I'm just hyping their latest album, Fist of God and their latest single "Heartbreaker"

Single features the soulful John Legend, and it its a match made in heaven.

You can download the album here.

Definitely something to check out if you're a fan of electronic or Canadian music. And if you're reading this and you're a Humber or Gumber (GH) student; MSTRKRFT is performing live at the North Campus of Humber September 11th for Froshweek. Hopefully I'll see you there.

Forever. //

This single was released today and will be featured on Lebron James's upcoming documentary "More Than a Game" where its looks at his journey with his teammates going through his final year of school.

The single: Forever, features the aforementioned Drake with Kanye West, Eminem and Lil' Wanye. Great track. And! Small tidbit; the producer Boi-1da (pronounced Boy Wonder, clever!) is Canadian (born and raised in Toronto) and one of the most sought out Canadian producers. He's also currently working with Dr. Dre on his latest release, and most anticipated album; Detox.

Check out the track here, open for a listen or download. (new link posted)

Like I said; great track, and it includes the hottest artists in the industry. Can't go wrong there.

Up! and Up! and Up! //

Up! is Disney and Pixar's newest film and soon to come into our homes via DVD and Blu-Ray. With the release, a special edition package will include the film along with Luxo Jr., Pixar's logo character...

This can be found on amazon for 130$. Cute, but not worth the price tag. But that's just me.

From Degrassi to Drake. //

His name: Aubrey Drake Graham, or to some Jimmy Brooks, and to others just Drake.

However you see him, he's hitting it big and is in the limelight. Turned from kid on Degrassi: Next Generation to worldly hip hop artist. Unbelievable.

Currently his signed under Lil' Wanye's label, Young Money Entertainment where his first studio album will be dropped in 2010 dubbed Thank Me Later.

His success began with minor mixtapes leading to the discover from, now mentor, Lil' Wayne.

Anyway. Here's a taste of Drake's latest mixtape "So Far Gone"

Also too, his first video off of the mixtape; "Best I Ever Had".

Definitely check him out, just recently I've been listening to this EP, and its fantastic. So. What are you waiting for, download and listen.

Bumblebees Invades the City of Angels. //

In the city of lights and glamour; Los Angeles, California, street art is nothing out of the ordinary, with artwork strewn all across the city with many prolific artists showing their work.

One artist, Bumblebee, showcases his talents all over the city with bumblebee themed artwork. Already the artist has much his artwork all over the city. Currently, he's in the process of installing outdoor fixtures in telling a story. Quite Clever. It seems like alot of thought and time are put into the work.

To see more of his work see his Flickr page. Definitely check it out.

Its good to see a diversity in street art, than oppossed to everyone using grafitti as their medium. And its clever to see art devoted to the children's side of life. Spot on.

Futurama-rama-ama. //

Kid Robot, who is deeply rooted in the pop fashion and culture and a regular player with collectible toys, is coming out with 3-inch Futurama figurines.

Individually about 9$, or you can purchase the entire set of 16 characters for 136$. You can find them and other Kid Robot toys and merchandise at their site.

Anyway. To me this these figurines are great since I'm a huge Futurama fan.

Along with this, Futurama will be resurrected from the cancellation cemetery with Comedy Central. Brand new season is slated to start in 2010, with same writing crew and voice cast. Definitely looking forward to that! And if you've never seen... check it out!

The Big Ticket in Blue. //

Little known fact: NBA superstar Kevin Garnett in a huge soccer fan, and a huge Chelsea FC fan!

With that in mind, Kevin Garnett and Addidas (sponsor) came together and to release a Chelsea themed basketball shoe. The shoe is the TS Commander LT, and its coloured with the Chelsea blue with yellow accents and the famous team crest on the tongue.

S
hoe's are set to release nationwide on November 1st, but Boston retailer Bodega had some strings pulled, and releasing it at the end of the month with a CFC team scarf (w/ the store's name on the underside) and the new home 2009 kit with Garnett's name and number. Price is $250.

It's nice to see the mix of sports with athletes and their sponsors. Good Show.

Fluro Flair! //

Assumably back by popular demand, Nixon is releasing yet another string if limited release/edition Rubber Players as did this past summer. Again, one colourway will be released per month starting now, August.

The theme for this set are Fluorescent. So expect bright vibrant colours. Here's a taste of what to come with the release of an electric orange player. Nice. More info
...

So I've been out of the game for quite sometime, but not having a laptop makes it difficult, and a bulky ass desktop leads with no motivation. But this is my official first work blog, with probably more to come... today. Ha!

Awesome. //

In short. The Bloody Beetroots are a electronic duo from Italy. There gimmick is that they always wear Venom masks when they perform not to reveal their identity; kind of like Daft Punk. They're very comparable to Justice:

Anyway. Apparently they have a much anticipated album, Romborama. Their first single features the Cool Kids, who I've mentioned previously. Check out the track dubbed... Awesome.

That's it for this action packed night.

The Late and Great. //

So this is somewhat change in pace for me, as mostly I'm a hip-hop head, but this is something definitely to mention. Modest Mouse is an indie rock band from Seattle, and is fairly well known worldwide. You may have heard of their single Float On (which is good live, as you can see)

Anyway. On their latest album "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank", a song titled "King Rat" was cut, but was later released on as an 7" promo disc. Along with the release, a music video was created. What makes this interesting is that it was directed by the late Heath Ledger. It wasn't released or made public due to his passing in January 2008.

Due to copyright issues, there is no audio. But to listen to the track, hear it here. Sucks that there is no audio, but you can attempt to sync it with the audio track and the video itself. But well done video. Shame that he passed at such an early age. To Mr. Ledger.
