What's a Tron? //

So. Tron for me was way before my time. When it released in '82, I wasn't even born. I still don't really understand the premise of the movie, the storyline or anything like that. To me, it seems like a sci-fi movie involving computers, getting sucked in, playing for your life... something like that? Correct me if I'm wrong. Please.

But. I did stumble upon this... Tron sequel; Tron Legacy. It was released at Comic-Con this year and it looks visually outstanding. And what impresses me? is the fact that Disney involved with the project. But again, looking back, Disney was involved with original Tron, so it was only fitting that they were back on this project. AND. What impresses me even more; Daft Punk is heading the score/album soundtrack. So you know its going to be good.

Sneak peak...

Also. Just a clever video by the Strokes, inspired by the original Film.

Basically, look out for Tron Legacy. Visually amazing. And one can only assume that a good story would go hand in hand. Fingers crossed.

The "New"-print! //

Mr. Shawn Carter is at it again. For the past few months he's been working on is 11th studio album, in following in his Blueprint series entitled "Blueprint 3". As any Jay-Z album, its much anticipated and has a all-star casting of artists and producers, including Timbaland, Kanye West, Drake, Rihanna and perhaps MGMT... Tentative drop date; September 11.

First official single was released at the beginning of the month, being "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)

The second single, which revealed earlier this week is "Run This Town" with Rihanna and Kanye West.

2 other promotional singles were leaked, but are unlikely to appear on the album; Brooklyn (Go Hard) and Jockin' Jay-Z.

As per any project from Mr. Jigga himself, its going to be good. If you're looking to download the singles pack, check it out here. So yeah. Lookout for it in early September.

de⋅ba⋅cle //

Nike has devoted alot of time and effort into the skate culture, starting in the late 80s. And today its paid off with them being at the for front of skateboarding; being a huge player, brand, and image for the sport. With their diverse team, they're finally releasing their first skate video, where it's drawing alot of attention.

Firstly, it will be the first video to be shot in all HD, which is keeping up with our High-Def times. But also, they're planning on releasing soley online, where its avaialbe to everyone. Anyone can watch it, at anytime. Which makes alot of sense, where its open to everyone, not just skateboarders and they're drawing in watchers whose never ridden on a skateboard ever. Clever.

Here's the trailer...

And here's sneak behind the scenes with some bonus footy.

When it drops, soon... its still in post-production. So look out for it.

Poke Her Face. //

So. I've mentioned about Kid Cudi previously... And with this I showcase his brand spakin' new video for "Make Her Say". Still, to me, somewhat sick of the song, but the video really makes up for it. Clever idea with the screen split, and it just works. Enjoy.

It's a Discovery! //

This is collaboration is kind of unique, and quite a change in pace. Discovery is basically just 2 guys; keyboardist Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend, and Wes Miles, the lead singer of Ra Ra Riot. In a nutshell its a mix of synth pop with a bit of Auto-tune. Just great summer album! Check it out.

More posts.

Who You Gonna Call? //

A Bathing Ape. That's the name of a "high end" clothing company coming out of Japan. It mainly specializes in street wear, where it's exclusivity, flashiness, originality, and expensiveness rule. But for the most part, BAPE is know for its unique collaborations with brands. For this instance, they've recently teamed up with Columbia pictures and the Ghostbuster's brand to create a product line. Its clever, makes money, and man it looks good! Prices are unknown, but typically BAPE t-shirts run for 120$. Yeah. 120$

Other collaborations include stuff with Marvel, Hello Kitty, Spongebob, and our favourite Italian plumber.

But that's really it. Its been slow, and I've been losing time because of work, soccer, injuries, and other stuff. But I'm still treking with this, and sticking to it. So look out for more updates.

Monkey Fighting... Monday - Friday. //

Also. Sam Jackson appeared on Conan tonight... and 2 interesting tidbits.

Mr. Jackson is currently the world's highest grossing actor, having earned $7.42 billion in 68 films according to Guinness. And also... getting around Mother Fucker is quite easy.

Enjoy.

Like Liquor for Punks? //

So you must be wondering about the title... "Like Liquor for Punks"

Well. This is somewhat of a mash. It was created by Heartbeat da Producer (who's also artist) and he took Daft Punk beats and laid down Lupe Fiasco and Common tracks over top. Odd combination, but it works. He used material from Food and Liquor, Lupe's first EP. and Some older tracks fro Common. It really works. For a trial; see here.

Heartbeat has also release a full length, seen on his myspace. It's new to me, but is currently being searched for personal use. From the tracks given at the site, seems legit. But my ears will be the judge.

But yeah. If you like, check it out... click above.

Anyway. It's been a long work week, and going to be a wee bit longer with being in the city Thursday-Sunday. But whatev.

Evil, Yet Stylish. //

So. In a previous post you saw before, the pairings of Nike and Transformers to come out with Transformer themed Nike shoe. Well. Eat your heart out. Nike has just released a Cobra Commander colourway of their new basketball shoe; the Alphaultion.

And if you don't know/remember, Cobra Commander is the archenemy of the GI Joe. Another retrofitting release to rekindle our childhood memories. Anyway. Release date is closely set to the GI Joe full length movie slated in August.

Props again to Nike to this; another clever release. Hat goes off.

But yeah. For now, I sleep. For a long work week, followed by a long work weekend, to follow more work leading up till Tuesday. Ugh.
