Still Young Forever //

This is basically Jay-Z's Young Forever with out Jay-Z.

The track didn't make the cut for Mr. Hudson's sophomore album Straight No Chaser, which I do like. Check out the album.

It's a Discovery! //

This is collaboration is kind of unique, and quite a change in pace. Discovery is basically just 2 guys; keyboardist Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend, and Wes Miles, the lead singer of Ra Ra Riot. In a nutshell its a mix of synth pop with a bit of Auto-tune. Just great summer album! Check it out.

Remembrance of MJ. //

So. It's been a long week of mourning. Farrah Fawcett. Ed Mcmahon. Billy Mays. and the King of Pop; Michael Jackson. MJ's death was tragic, and unpredictable. He was a huge influence to many within the music industry, being a part of what music is today. Just look how Michael's songs have been a major influence to others.

So. Michael was a big deal. His "Thriller" album still holds as the best-selling album of all time, with over 100 million copies, and probably soon to increase after his passing. And the single with the same name, was the first to be a short film turned music video.

Anyway. Here I found two good downloads of Michael Jackson. So check'em out. Click.

So yeah. To a great performer, artist and showman. RIP.

Please Excuse My Chester French. //

Chester French. Now, these guys have been getting alot of attention in 2008/2009.

In early 2008, they signed a record deal with Star Trak, Pharrell's label. But before even that, Pharrell and Kanye West were at a bidding war to be able to sign these guys to their respecting labels. Big deal! Also. Tidbit! It's surprising to me that both guys from Chester French, Maxwell Drummey and D.A. Wallach, are Harvard grads. And that their band name, Chester French, is named after the sculptor Daniel Chester French, who designed the Lincoln Memorial and other American mounuments. Clever.

Regardless. These guys are quite good! They have a very indie pop/rock feel, but for some reason are more well known in the hip-hop community. They've collaborated with artists like Common, Asher Roth [more on Asher soon], Talib Kweli, and of course Pharrell, and are continuing to push forward with their music.

So. With their success, they've recently released their first mixtape in April, as well as their first studio record; (click the pics to download)

Jacques Jams, Vol. 1: Endurance (sign up to download, its worth it)

Love the Future

Like I said, these guys are good. So check them out!

But yeah. That's really it for now. Till later.
